beegy GmbH is committed to providing a fully accessible website for all users, including those who rely on aids such as screen readers, screen magnification software and alternative keyboard input devices to navigate the internet.
Ongoing efforts to ensure accessibility
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 to determine accessibility. These are internationally recognized standards that contain recommendations and best practices for improving the usability of web content.
The accessibility of a website is an ongoing process. New content and functions are continuously checked against the WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines. Common testing tools such as the Accessibility Checker, color contrast analysis, keyboard navigation tests and readability analyses are used.
Accessible functions on our website
- Keyboard operation of all main functions
- Avoiding content that could trigger epilepsy
- Alt texts for images in the media library
- Semantically correct HTML (heading structure, lists, links)
- Color scheme with sufficient contrast
- Dispensing with purely visual CAPTCHAs
Where we are improving
- Some embedded content (e.g. Google Maps, iFrames) is not fully accessible
- PDF documents are gradually being replaced with barrier-free versions
- Automated galleries with lightbox sometimes require manual optimization for screen readers
